Buck Oddities: Check Out This Giant Non-Typical
I wanted everyone to take a look at this monster non-typical buck that was taken during the Kentucky gun season last November. This buck has a very unique rack with all of the neat kicker points and trash hanging off its main beams. You can bet your bottom dollar that I would let this buck ride in the back of my truck. In recent years, the Bluegrass State has been receiving a lot of attention for producing some impressive deer and this massive bruiser is picture proof that Kentucky’s conservative one buck per season management practices are paying off. I spoke with David Yancey of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Agency and he said he thinks this giant was taken from Leslie County by a hunter named John Morgan.
According to Yancey, this big non-typical buck scored 214 7/8, making it an unbelievable whitetail in any state. Can you imagine having a top-heavy buck like this walking toward your stand at about daylight? If a set of headgear like this doesn’t get your adrenalin pumping then you might want to check your pulse, because you’re probably dead! I am going to try to find out more about this gargantuan buck and how the hunt unfolded. Keep checking the BBZ over the next couple of weeks and I will keep all of you posted. Seeing a buck like this makes me wish I could skip summer and go straight to fall!

I am facing a job transfer to either Kentucky or Tennessee. Seeing that buck has me thinking about transferring to Kentucky.

I have been trying to get into hunting! If I ever killed a buck like this one, I would be hooked for life! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to kill a buck yet. But seeing this one makes me look foward to the next season!

Adam,
I agree this is a phenomenal buck and KY has been producing some monsters. You might want to think about moving to the Bluegreass State.
Renae,
I am glad you enjoyed looking at the picture of this monster and good luck next season. I hope your first buck is a long-tined giant that is even bigger than the one pictured here!
6phunter,
Congratulations on your success in KY. I don't blame you for keeping that funnel top secret.Honey holes that produce those kinds of bucks are hard to come by in any state. Thanks for reading and good luck this fall.

After reading this article and seeing this massive buck I am ready for deer season. I even got my bow out today and took a few practice shot (it's never to early to start practicing).
Thanks for the article and what a great deer. Keep em up Travis!

Wowzer!
What I noticed right-away was that the brow tines are very much the same (symmetrical),
then something happens after that as if he was hanging out under some very powerful electrical lines a lil to long or, a need to bulldozing any small to large saplings that got in his way while the rack grew.
Never-the-less a trophy,.... a shaker is right!
