Reports from OLs Bow Test
My posts may not be as prompt as I'd like this time of year as I am here in Lancaster, Pa., at Lancaster Archery Supply where Outdoor Life is conducting it's annual bow test on 17 of this year's top models. It is THE most thorough test of bows in the industry. It's so tough, the requirements for even being a member of the test team have gotten to where few people even possess the skills to put these bows to the test. We've even been ordered to speak Albanian so no one can tell what we are discussing. Well, here, check out this video and see what I mean. Here's one of the testers in action...
Stay tuned. I'll do my best to bring you updates from Lancaster. Mirupafshim.
That is just crazy!

"We've even been ordered to speak Albanian" That's Italian you moron! No wonder everyone in the world thinks we Americans are stupid and ignorant, any language we don't recognize automatically becomes some strange foreign thing to be made fun of. Buy a plane ticket and travel around a bit, American is nice but believe it or not it's not the only country in the world.

Have a bad day Frank?
He never said they were speaking Albanian in the clip, now did he?
Have a politically incorrect beer.

Make sure while you're in Lancaster to eat some good Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch food. If you get the urge to snack go to the store and get some fresh sliced Lebanon sweet bologna, yummy. My old stomping grounds are just to the west of Lancaster in York Co.

Where was the closed captioning from Italian to English? I would like to see Bryon try that.......No that would not be a good site at all. Help me I can't get it out of my head now. Some older get bent like that, Blah It would probably look like a lump of moving chewed bubble gum.

Brad in NP, Alaska- Correct-There is NOTHING like fresh Lebanon Bolagna, mix some super sharp cheese from the Market in Sunbury, PA and a sweet Vidalia onion slice and you are in heaven. Add some Genny Cream Ale to top it off!!

Wow Frank, my world traveling friend, relax..take deep breaths...and just relax.
The description of the video on You Tube said it was Albanian. As we all know, you can't take anything at face value on the web. Thanks for setting us straight, I think.
Just to let you know, I took a little German, French, and Spanish in college. Worked with some Italians, Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, Iranians and Greeks in the restaurant business, but didn't pick enough up to speak them all fluently or always readily identify the language. I guess that's a crime where Frank comes from. Man, what sets some people off!
Anyway as for all my PA loving friends, the countryside in and around Lancaster is as always, phenomenal. Beautiful rolling hills, nice people and a laid back way of life. It was the perfect escape from NYC and we got to shoot some awesome bows to boot. Be sure to check out the bow test results in our August issue later this summer.
As for the food, we ate at the Brassierey or something like that that had just awesome tomato bisque! Who would have thought. The steaks weren't too shabby either. And the accomodations at the Country Living Inn were quite clean, comfortable and boasted the most ridiculously well-operating wifi this side of Hong Kong (one of the photographers pointed out!)
If you've never been there, it's well worth checking out and if you're a big bow hunter, you have to check out Lancaster Archery while you're there. It is by far the coolest bow-only store I've ever visited.
Oh, and one more thing for my vitriolic visitor Frank. Just to let you know that I'm not as glued to the American soil as you believe, I will be leaving for a vacation with my family in Curacao, just off the coast of Venezuala where I'll do my best to indulge in a little Dutch, Spanish, Papiamentu (the local language) and a whole lot of tequila-ese. Capice!

I grew up in Lancaster County and bought supplies at Lancaster Archery. Great group of bowiers. Very free with their time. Hated climbing the stairs, though...

As for the food, D & S Brasserie is good (they have an awsome lobster dinner) but head down to Dutch Haven for some great homestyle Amish food, buffet style. If you leave hungry there...
While you are in the area, check out Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown. Dynamite used gun selection. Or head down to the New Holland Fly Fishing Shop... or the Stockyards Inn for steak... or, well, you get the idea.

Hey guys, what about the shot. I know guys who can't shoot that well with compound while they are standing on their feet.

For what it's worth, the arrow girl is Albanian (Albana is her artistic name) and the clip was shot on Italian TV, so the language is Italian.
