UN and Gun Control
Britain, Australia and Japan might be our allies when it comes to combating Islamic crazies, but they are certainly no friends to gun owners. The AP reports
that these countries, not satisfied with having disarmed their own citizens subjects, are now teaming up with the UN to come after our guns. Looks like Halloween is coming early this year.
John Snow
Another gun control debate, or should I say a total gun confiscation debate?
I just don't see it happening here in the USA, and I will continue to support candidates that see it that way as well!

Why do we need guns? The UN does a fine job of protecting the citizens of member nations. Rwanda. Bosnia. Darfur. China.
Oh wait, nevermind. Now I remember why I will never leave my personal saftey in the hands of the UNable.

I would NEVER EVER comply with a UN mandated gun control regulation or law period. Any proposed consequences or penalties would be absolutely irrelevant to me.

State gun control works really well. Just ask the military junta in Burma. Hey...how goes that pro democracy demo in Rangoon against the only fully armed entity in country? Oh...wait...

John,
Don't forget Burma, er, Myanmar.
The treaty looks aimed at international arms trade, not intra-national. Still, an international 2nd Amendment like treaty would do more to enforce peace than what they propose.

What about the illegal machete deals? I thought Rwanda had important millions of them from China because the sale of them is unregulated. Not only that but they are cheaper than bullets. Mass murderers are mass murderers...regardless if they shoot or hack apart their oppressed.

Now, how else would you expect us Gun Bloggers react to this topic? AND the UN is a waste of time and money.Period.Having said this, I will quote Just a guy,"I would NEVER EVER comply with a UN mandated gun control regulation or law period."Not EVER!

I modestly propose we ship the UN Idiocracy off to someplace more agreeable like, oh say, Geneva, Moscow, or Lagos.
Once we do this, we can put the UN building to a more productive use: I think it would make a fine regional HQ for the NRA.

Personally, I can not see sending them to such nice places as geneva, Moscow or Lagos, I was think more along the lines of Darfur. I think they would be just at home there among the other thugs and it may have the side benefit of reduce the UN's huge overhead by thru attrition.
Yep I think that would work just fine

Turn it into a whorehouse and nobody would know the difference.

Don't put the Useless Nations in any place as nice as say Moscow or Geneva (where it seems to be in all the Sci Fi novels). . .Headquater it in Darfur, ZimBOBwe, or Burma(I refuse to use an illegitimate gov't's name for itself)
And give me back the tax dollars of mine that have been wasted in this kleptocracy, thank you

I think it is time for the gun owners of America and other like minded individuals, to stop doing business with companies from these countries. We have some power here. Many products we use are made in these countries. Contact them and let them know how we feel. I mean has anyone noticed where ALliant powder is made?? Drop them and other companies an email, and voice your opinions. Stand up and bitch at everyone of these companies. Let them talk to the leaders. Money changes minds.

I propose we give the island and government of Haiti to the UN and they can show us how well they can do what they criticize us for not getting perfect.
Then we move the whole outfit down there so they can live in the mess they create.
Then every country can start contributing to the UN.
And finally, the US can start the new organization, OFEG, the Organization of Freely Elected Governments. The only countries allowed into OFEG are those whose governments are freely elected and where the civilian officials control the military - and the countries can be dropped or suspended immediately upon any coups.
As countries started joining OFEG, the citizens - not subjects - would see the true meaning of freedom, and the 2nd Amendment would become the law in more than just our land.

the un is a waste of time and money. when was the last time they fully supported the USA we are the USA not the un. they want a fight just try to take away our guns why are they in the USA . BECAUSE THEY WANT OUR MONEY

Since the 1950's the UN has been run by a bunch of dictatorships and so naturally they would not like their subjects to have guns. If they want mine they can come and try to take them but the first few had better have there insurance paid up!

I'm with the UN. This hunter says get rid of assault rifle. Real hunters have no need for such weapons.
Posted by: rick lawson | October 04, 2007 at 07:25 AM
Hey Rick,
You are missing the point. It is not about hunting it is about guns period, they make no distinction. I hunt with a Rem700, but own several "assult"rifles. Why, because I can and they are fun to shoot. Two different things, but make no mistake they want all your guns. They could care less about what they are used for.

This the beginning of the end of our guns, as soon as Hillary and her gang come to power, one of the first things they plan to do is to take away our guns. They are socialist at heart, and if they need to enlist the help of the UN then so be it. They want the guns before they start cramming their socialist ideas down our throats. They want to control all aspects of our lives, they think they are the only ones with a brain. They will spoonfeed us whatever it is they think we need or deserve. I personaly can't stand the idea of 8 more years of the Clintons. Everybody thinks Hillary is so great, she's a liar and a theif, just like slick willey is. They stold us blind for 8 years now they want another 8. They are starting to become our king and queen, I don't think we'll ever get rid of them until they have sucked us dry. When I think about it, I get sick to my stomach. I can't belive what our country has come to. Everybody wants to enforce the Constitution to the letter of the law when it suits them, but they can't wait to step all over the 2nd admentment.

Seems like Britain's position on this would've prevented the American Lend/Lease plan during WW2 because it "prolonged" the conflict.
Nice call there.
Posted by: Bill Crowther | October 04, 2007 at 06:24 PM
Hey, when these schmucks take office they take an oath of office, don't they? Which includes swearing to uphold the constitution of the United States right? Well why can't they be thrown out of office for breaking their oath by attacking the second amendment?
And as far as then UN is concerned who is going to enforce any B.S. they pass? Our troops are the majority of the UN "Peacekeepers" they use to oppress the locals to do what they want, I really don't believe our own troops would march against the US population.

There is no question that gun control supporter's goal is to confiscate our guns, each and every type regardless of design or caliber/gauge.
Get with the program Rick, even if you are not a gun owner our government should not have the power to take them away.
Does it not sound strange that some people actually VOTE their RIGHTS away? What's next? Take away our voting power, too??
Hillary is very dangerous to our freedoms, so GOD help us if she becomes President!
