Gun Rights Pistols

Talk, it is said, is cheap. But Para USA is putting its money where its mouth is by supporting the Second Amendment through a special line of .45 ACP Gun Rights Pistols. The line consists of the single-stack PXT 1911 SSP and the high-capacity PXT P14-45. Both come with stainless-steel match barrels and receivers and each features a match trigger, spurred competition hammer and a fiber-optic front sight. For each Gun Rights handgun sold, Para USA will donate $25 to the NRA-ILA.

“The next two years are vital to America’s first freedom,” said Para USA CEO Thanos Polyzos when the program launched early this year. “If you love the right to keep and bear arms, these 1911 pistols are the most important handguns you can ever own.”

Para USA and the NRA have been so pleased with the results of the program that it has been extended through 2008.

It's great that Para USA is doing this and I think all companys should do the same.
It's not the money but the attention it will bring , we must stand up as a whole for our rights , like they said talk is cheap and action is the answer.

I have owned a single stack SSP for about three years now. I have nothing but glowing respect for this sweet shooting/feeding/ejecting pistol. My only wish now is that I would have waited to get one. I guess my only consolation is that this gives me a reason to pair up my trusty SSP with a partner.

I hunt with bow, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and I own a couple pistols also. Why the NRA has to constantly keep hunters in a false state of parnoia should be obvious to all. This "blog" here is nothing more than a commercial based on the false assumption someone is going to take away your guns and your hunting!

Well its time someone said it loud! B as in B! S as in S! There are no such bills before congress despite horrors at Virginia Tech and more recently at Colorado! Read the 2nd amendment all the way through! The right to bear arms in order for form a militia?! Why militia? The nation had just been formed and they needed the ability to create adhoc armies! They were talking about long rifles and muskets I might add! Not Euzi's and armor piercing bullits. You see there is no flex in the NRA on anything no matter how ridiculous.

I just watched a show as I was writing this on the Outdoor channel sponsored by Gander Mountain. The host flat out lied about "joining the NRA to protect our gun and hunting rights because there are people who would take them away!" B as in B S as in S! If he was in front of me now I'd go eyeball to eyeball with him and say "who buddy? who is taking your precious guns away?" And he'd sit there slack jawed! The NRA is also a branch of the Republican party! They only endorse Republicans. You know the folks who got us into the false and fraudulent quagmire known as Iraq! Who quaddrupled both the debt and the defecit and gave tax breaks to the wealthiest 1% while a war was going on.

Sorry if I don't fit the arcane pseudo conservative version of someone on the "left". I hunt, I fish, I eat venison, pheasant, quail, ducks, geese, etc. etc. I don't need a group more paranoid than PETA to use me like a puppet. I live in a State that passed its own amendment to ensure hunting as a right not just a priviledge. (Minnesota) So take a chill pill boys and stop jumping everytime the NRA says so! They are using hunters to win their radical arguments about cop killing bullits and automatic weapons.

Michael L. Luce

I don't know where you got your information JAG but I'm a 20 plus year retired disabled veteran and if you seriously think no one will take your gun ownership rights away you'd best leave this country. I'm originally from Wisconsin (a border state of Minnesota in case you forgot) and you can lose your rights. As for the (as you call it) quagmire of Iraq what have you done for your country? You maybe think Minnesota is too far from New York for the terrorists to get at you? Get real fella!!!

I was born in "62, back when you could buy a gun thru the mail from an ad in Field and Stream magazine. People were safe in their homes and could carry a gun openly in town without some paranoid wacko calling a SWAT Team or the National Guard. Kids took guns to school not to shoot their classmates but because they were going hunting after school. A man could carry a gun on a bus to go hunting.

Tell me your and my rights haven't been taken away now.

sarg

Jag you learned to read in school, now go back and learn to understand what you read. The 2nd adm. was put there to protect yourself from the Government, why, because the people had just came out from an oppressive Government and was not going to sit around and go back into it.. Learn to comprehend what you read, look around ,MAYBE you will understand what you see. If not call me and I'll show you.

gary

Hey there Jag, That BS you talk about means Back out, Shut up. You may hunt with a bow and gun, but you sound as if you could care less If youcould...

Matt Paris

As a member of the military, I understand the power of big government. It seems to me that banning firearms in the name of safety, cultural enlightenment, progress, etc., is essentially political in, and of, itself. Historically, there is no precedent suggesting that laws have positive affects on morality/crime--Prohibition in the 1920's and the war on drugs considered. There are already over 200 exiting gun laws. Significantly more people are murdered annually by alcohol-related accidents, despite the severe laws created to protect people, than by handguns. The human heart, capable of extreme hatred, is the essential catalyst of all violence. Demonizing firearms is not the remedy to crime. Felons were once innocent babies; how did society fail them? Why isn't the banning camp seeking ways to heal our social ills caused by deteriorating family values? Hollywood produces a significant number of violent TV programs and movies, but discussions of banning them cannot be heard over the hue and cry of First Amendment rights. Additionally, many "stars" use their celebrity status to hypocritically express contempt of the Second Amendment. The NRA has accomplished more to successfully educate citizens, including children (Eddie Eagle Program) on gun safety, to train police officers, to offer Olympic marksmanship camps, to support gun laws, and create anti-violence programs (Project Exile) than the existing counter organizations who premise their existence on emotional, misguided utopian thinking. Before making debasing assertions against the NRA, individuals need to be philosophically responsible and learn more about their essential purpose and work--especially where constitutional rights are concerned! Firearms are used not only for self defense, but also for a variety of enjoyable shooting activities and styles. The issue of gun rights is unfortunately so polarized that understanding between the two groups is presently non-existent. I hunt, and shoot, without aspirations of violence against mankind. Our government has already enacted significant legislation which, despite good intentions, has also served to usurp many of our former rights.
We are searching for answers to the complex social problems which currently plague our country, but dismantleing the Constitution and Bill of Rights will leave us with a remnant of the democracy our forefathers envisioned, and a reality resembling the government they fled. Thank you Para USA for protecting and supporting a precious freedom.

George Lee

Jag, you're so lost in your own agenda. If you check out the votes in Congress, you'll find some on both sides of the isle voting to take our guns away from us. It does seem that more liberals lean in that direction.
Oh, I might add that both parties continue to vote "yea" for further funding in the middle east war. Might add that I'm 66 years old, harvest 3 deer/yr, have CHL, and a Texan.

BA

Use your vote to clean out the Congress. This is the one step that is mandatory if we are to keep the good old US of A. We the People cannot continue on the path we are on. We must get serious. It's time to dump the "Amnesty", Pork Barrel, Earmark people now!

NRA Patron

Para is assisting th NRA in supporting the RIGHTS of ALL US Citizens to Keep & Bear Arms for the legal purposes of their choice ( Defence of self or others, Recreational shooting, Hunting, Collecting or Formal Competition, ect). There is no need to Justify any Right, it simply is as it says a Right. Once you fall prey to "Justifying" a Right for a purpose, then the "Right" becomes a point of debate, which it should not.

craig

this does seem like para trying to increase sales !and 25$ seems a bit wimpy when you price their guns ??? but lets not look the gift hoarse in the mouth . but the fact is i couldn't afford one of para ordinance fine pistols if i wanted one anyway . so lets hope big business gets their head outa their %[email protected] and gives generously to all the good people that fight for our rights to keep and bear their weapons !!!!!!!!!!!

JAG: You are the typical left wing liberal idiot. Check and see who have voted to take away your second amendment rights. If you think your government will not take away your guns, ask the people in England and Australia. Who was in charge when the people in Waco, who had not broken any laws, were attacked and killed. Wake up before it is too late.

I AM THE NRA!

I live in the most liberal state in the Union - California. They have banned many .223 and 7.62x39 semi-auto rifles. Many other semi-auto rifles of varying calibers have also been banned. California has also banned some semi-auto shotguns and many semi-auto pistols. They have also used new laws to virtually ban importation of new handguns by making them meet drop test requirements. When most of the handguns passed those test they changed the law to make it much harder to pass and it worked. Now, thanks to our "Republican" Arnold Governator we are going to have virtually no new pistols for sale in a couple of years due to a micro-stamping bill that he signed. We also cannot hunt in certain areas with lead ammo and .50 caliber single-shot and semi-auto rifles are banned thanks to our "Republican" governor. You can mouth off your ignorance all you want to JAG but the facts stand. Hunting and the 2nd Amendment ARE under attack. By the way Uzi and bullets are spelled like this. You should at least know how to spell the words you are attacking. Maybe we should ban the words too. With people like you that is what we will end up with - nothing. Get involved. NO EXCUSES. NO APOLOGIES. FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS.

P.S. The NRA supports the candidate who has the strongest pro-gun record regardless of their political party.

I AM THE NRA!

MAC,

I agree the NRA, SCI and the other pro-hunting, pro-gun organizations are not doing enough to keep the members informed about the issues.

ERVT

Don't forget to read the Preamble -

"THE Conventions of a number of the States having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution"

The first ten amendments are "declaratory and restrictive clauses" - they supersede all other parts of our Constitution and restrict the powers of our Constitution.

In other words - the Bill of Rights limits the power of the government. It doesn't not limit the power - maintained by the exercise of these rights - of the people.

ERVT

Jag - A few other facts to keep in mind with your rhetoric on 'cop killer' and 'armor piercing' bullets

- Archery equipment (as well as your pocket knife) will pierce body armor that does not have pierce type protection, which is the majority - even though a handgun won't.

"Direct from Second Chance:

"I contacted one of the guys in our test lab. He said that none of our ballistic soft body that he has tested can stop an arrow. It would require armor piercing steel reinforcement (trauma plate) to stop it. Our multi-threat 3A ballistics and level 3 stab has not been tested. He said that could possibly stop it.

- Almost without exception, a hunting rifle, not just those scary semi-autos, with nearly any type of bullet will easily defeat the majority of body armor worn by Law Enforcement.

It is a very slippery slope that you have chosen. Your bow is capable of launching an armor piercing projectile and almost any bullet from your hunting rifle is a 'cop killer'. Oh, and so is your hunting knife, kitchen knife, ice pick, letter opener, the nail gun in garage . . . You may get the picture, but then again, maybe it's not your point to get the picture.

Maybe you are simply an anti-gun/ anti-hunting nut camping out in 'enemy territory'.

to: JAG
so you entered you views about gun rights. and you live in a state where you think your rights are protected. "think again" federal laws trump state laws. and it sucks, but that is the way it is unless the state suceedes from the union. if we are not vidgilant we may end up with elected officals that would be tickled pink to see everyones weapons distroyed ie boxer, peloski, clintens and so on. all names mispelled on purpose.
look at our friends to our north.
then look at the ausies. get your head out of the sand. if this hurts your feelings- tough wake up and get a life.

Ryan

Ok, JAG. If you believe all of what you just threw out there you are in a serious case of denial. There are places were hunting is becoming illegal. Carrying any kind of gun is illegal in a few states, like IL. They are making it harder and harder for an honest American Citizen to get there hands on a gun for any reason be it hunting or self protection. It's fine with me if you do a background check, I'll submit to it, but you should not be able to tell me that I cannot own anything from an assault rifle to a handgun. It is my right! It says so in the Bill of Rights. The Second is one of the few ammendments that has very little room for interpritation. I agree with all of the people posting above me, that you are a severe left-wing moron.

One reason that the NRA and similar groups have not challenged the anti-gun laws in the supreme court is because they are not sure that they will win, and it is very rare for the supreme court to reexamine a desison they have ruled on. What we need to do to protect our rights is to elect a pro-gun president so he can appoint enough supreme court justices that are also pro-gun to ensure a ruleing in favor of the NRA and the Second Ammendment.

Nugefan

Jag, wake up to the coffe man! Try owning a gun in NYC, Washington D.C., or for that matter Morton Grove,Il. And in your spare time you might want to check out the NRA's E-mail alerts that keep the rest of us informed so we can continue to preserve the rights of all gun owners. And I bet Zell Miller of Ga. would respectfully disagree that the NRA and the Republican party are absolute bed fellows. You need more research and less kool-aid!

jd

This is a direct message to JAG -

JAG, you are such an ignorant head in the sand Liberal, that you have no idea how stupid you just proved you really are. Wake up you idiot!! Read all the intelligent responses to your posting and learn something!!

DDF

Jag, I would really like to understand your real hate for the NRA and Republican party. Did they do something personal to you ? You are so blinded by hate, you lie to yourself !!!

Shaky

No; Jag, no one will take your gun away, because you don't have one to take away, and if you did, it wouldn't be taken away, because the NRA, and others will fight with the last dime we have to prevent such encroachment on the constitution of these United States of America.
When you rant and rave against such as the NRA, you are denigrating me and many others who have protected your freedoms for many yrars at no cost to you. My sugestion to you is to do a little research and then try to be honest with yourself, then maybe you can tell the truth on these blogs. In other words, get a life.

Big Al

Jag, it is obvious that you are a typical liberal. I have paid most of my life to retain your gun rights. I am an endowment member of the NRA; a tremendous organization. Each week I receive an e-mail from NRA and SCI, keeping me abreast of things hapening in the gun and hunting worlds. I traveled to Africa last yeam for my "once in a lifetime" hunt. I ensured my gun, purchased emergency insurance & e-vac insurance and obtained all manner of information (health, travel & local) through the NRA. I take both of their magazines and contribute money regularly. I also am a member of SCI. If you are not willing to pay your way to maintain our feedom then get the hell out of "our" sport.
